After being crafty using the FUNtastic Christ-Centered Craft Ideas for Easter from our previous post, we added some Christ-Centered Easter Games and Activities for parties and Sunday School celebrations. Easter games are a good way to share with children the true story behind Easter and can make Easter truly an extra special time for children.
I know Easter is already in the air, so for those who are planning for an Easter party in the neighborhood or at Sunday School, these games are great to play with kids and help them learn that Easter is actually not about the bunny but about the Lamb.
Easter Bingo– this game that comes with q free printable is from 123 Homeschool 4 Me by Beth Gorden. This game can be played by little kids as well as older kids. This is good way to start any of your Easter events while you are still waiting for other kids to arrive. The photos in the bingo card can be a reminder to the real story of Easter.
Easter Word Cross– this is an activity found in Sunday School Kids site and can be a nice activity for little kids to do during any Easter event. The kids will get to discover the importance of those words to the true story of Easter.
Easter Egg Game– this is a good game from Sunday School Network shared by Lily Herald. This is played like a Hot Potato game but with more fun since kids won’t mind getting “out” because that’s how they get the prize. This can be played while the kids will be singing to their favorite Easter Songs.
Empty Tomb– this is another good game from Sunday School network that creates fun and promotes teamwork. As the kids will compete with their opponent team to be the first group to empty their tomb, they will be reminded that Jesus had never really remained with the dead.
The Hunt for Easter– Very adventurous game comes from My Cup Overflows. This game as shared on the blog was originally played around the church. This is like a treasure hunting game but with trivia questions that needed to be answered in order to get the full location of the treasure. To quote the writer, “but the real treasure for this game lies in answering the question and learning the story of Easter.” This is indeed a very fun game to be played in group whether in the church or in any of your outdoor Easter event.
Aside from games that children love, party accessories could also hype up any celebrations. So this Jesus Crown could be a cute addition to your Easter party or event. This can be use as venue decorations or you can add up an elastic to it and it can be a party crown or you can let kids give color to it as it comes in coloring printable as well.
If you are really running out of time to search for individual ideas to create a simple Easter Celebration for your kids; check out the Easter Party-Preschool Style shared by Beth Moore of From the Hive site. It is a complete package of ideas including games, activities, foods, giving you easy access to a fun-filled meaningful celebrations of Easter Sunday with the kids.
Parties and events won’t be complete without a treat or a favor to bring home. And this Jesus-filled Easter Basket is a very wonderful idea to give as a treat. You can choose to fill it with the things that Abi from Joy in my Kitchen site has shared or you can just pick one or two and filled it with other treats that children will surely love.
Of course you can add to your treat basket the Easter Memory Cross card. It’s a good “take away” for kids to be reminded what Easter is really all about plus kids will surely love them because of their captivating never ending loops.
If you have other fun games or crafts post them in the comment box.
